I’m a British contemporary artist based in South Staffordshire, creating vibrant, colourful and expressive paintings inspired by the landscape and the beauty of nature. My practice is increasingly focused on pushing the boundaries between landscape and abstraction exploring how memory distorts the places we hold close, and how painting can capture that shift.
Working from my home studio, I draw inspiration from the places I visit and the things I see around me. I’m particularly interested in the movement, light, colours and shapes found in the natural world, and how these can be translated into a painting.
My work brings together what I see with a little artistic freedom. I don’t aim to recreate a landscape exactly as it is. Instead, I enjoy playing with colour, shape and texture to create paintings that feel energetic, expressive and full of life.
I studied for a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at university before taking a different path for a while. I continued to paint throughout those years, alongside raising my three children. As my children grew, I began to develop my painting practice more seriously and started selling my work professionally in 2022. Since then I have developed my practice full time, exhibiting across the UK and building a growing community of collectors.
I held my first solo exhibition at Swan Hill Studios in Shrewsbury. My work has also been selected for group exhibitions and open calls, and my paintings are now in homes with collectors across the UK and Internationally. I also work with Emily Hadley who represents a selection of contemporary artists and connects their work with collectors.
I take on commissions, creating paintings inspired by places, memories and ideas that are personal to each client.
Ultimately, I want my paintings to bring something into a room: colour, energy, movement. I love the idea that someone can live with one of my paintings every day and still enjoy it years later. For me, there is something really special about creating a piece of work that becomes part of someone’s home.
