Buying Original Art
How do I choose a painting?
My biggest piece of advice? Choose the painting you love! It might be the colours, the feeling it gives you, or simply the one you keep coming back to. There really isn't a right or wrong choice when it comes to art. If it makes you happy, that's a pretty good reason to bring it home.
Where should I put it?
Don't be afraid to make the artwork the star of the room. A painting doesn't have to match everything perfectly. I often think the most interesting rooms have artwork that adds a new colour or a bit of personality.
What size should I go for?
Have a quick measure of your space, but don't be afraid to go a little bigger than you first imagined. A larger painting can look amazing and really bring a room together.
What if I love the painting but I'm not sure about the frame?
The frame can completely change the feel of a painting. I choose frames that I think work beautifully with each piece, but if you're unsure, just ask me. I'm always happy to chat it through with you.
Can I see more of the painting?
Absolutely! I'm happy to send extra photographs or videos if you'd like to see a painting in more detail.
What would an artist look for?
One of my favourite things about painting is the little details you might not notice straight away. Take a closer look at the brushstrokes, layers of paint and little flashes of colour. You might spot something new the more you look.
And the most important tip?
Buy the piece that makes you smile. Art is incredibly personal, and I think the best paintings are the ones you fall a little bit in love with.
